Galveston’s Own Shines at Miss Texas Pageant: Sade Storthz Carries the Crown—and a Cause
This week, Galveston’s Sade Storthz, our reigning Miss Galveston Texas, steps onto the statewide stage at the 88th Annual Miss Texas Pageant—held June 24–28 at the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts in Richardson, Texas.
But for Sade, this journey is about more than a title.
A fierce advocate for literacy and inclusion, her platform “Turning the Page” reimagines literacy to include not just reading and writing—but also creativity, emotional intelligence, and meaningful dialogue. “I want to get Texans talking,” she says. “Conversation builds connection—and connection builds change.”
Sade is also poised to make history: if crowned, she would be the first Jewish Miss Texas in the pageant’s history. “At a time of rising antisemitism, standing proudly in my identity is essential,” she shares. “Representation matters.”
Through this journey, Sade has sharpened her public speaking skills, deepened her commitment to service, and emerged as a confident leader. Now, she’s calling on her hometown for support.
