Catch the 13th Annual Ohana Surf Dogs Competition on July 18 at the beach at 28th Street and Seawall Boulevard, where surfing dogs compete while raising funds for the Galveston Island Humane Society. Limited beach registration and online-registration check-in begin at 7:30 AM, heats run from 8:00 AM to noon, finals begin around 11:30 AM, and awards follow at noon. Spectators may watch for free; dog registration is $35 in advance or $45 on event day.
